It’s been a few days since my last post, 5 days to be exact. Since one of my new years resolutions was to focus more on my blog, I feel quite guilty that I haven’t done any projects or meals over the weekend. Yah I could blog about the super greasy breakfast I made on Saturday, but every one knows how to make bacon, toast and eggs. I work in a restaurant so I don’t go out much to other restaurants since all of my shifts are at night. Dates with Evan are few and far between, and most days I come home from work and he’s already sleeping in bed. So with that all being said restaurant posts are a bust.
Staying motivated and keeping up with the whole blog thing is the hardest part, I’m always thinking of ideas and what I want to do for future posts but finding the time to do them is pretty tough. But I did make it a new years resolution and I’m determined for this to be the year that I keep all of them and succeed! We might be seeing some more little posts about my day to day life making it’s way to the Mango Kid blog. I hope you don’t find it too boring but I feel that if I keep posting, even if it’s not about food or DIY projects, then I’m working on my resolution.
Don’t fret though, I have 6 frozen bananas thawing in the fridge and I’m going to make banana something-some-sorta-baking-muffin-slash-cupcake tomorrow. Insider info: I’m thinking of combining cupcake methods with banana bread inspiration. I have a feeling it’s going to taste exactly like banana muffins, but we’ll see. I’ve also been collecting wine corks from work over the past week for an upcoming DIY project.
So there are my excuses, as lame as they are as to why you haven’t seen a post on The Mango Kid all weekend. When I was a teenager I was in the Delta Sungod Swim Club. My coach once assigned homework to the senior team to watch every single Star Wars movie looking for one particular line that we could apply to our training. She wouldn’t tell us what the line was, we had to find it. Oh Joy…and I love me a science fiction movie (groan…not). We all went to one of the swimmers house and watched all 3 Star Wars movies (I’m definitely aging myself now since there was only 3 at the time). Of course the line was in the very last movie we watched. “Do or do not, there is no try.” I’ve always remembered that and have tried to apply it to my own life, and here I am again applying it to my blog. Honestly I have no excuse for putting my blog on the back burner, I am not trying to neglect it. It seems that life is trying to get in the way so to battle that I’m making this blog part of my life.
More posts to come so stay tuned!
